Meeting Minutes of the
New Braunfels Photographic Society
September 12, 2016
    
The New Braunfels Photographic Society convened for its monthly meeting on September 12, 2016, at the Comal County Senior Center.

The meeting was called to order by Vice-President,  Homer Gilbert, who welcomed the attendees.

The minutes from the previous month’s meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report
  • The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Dale Wood. The club has a current balance of $963.90.
  • Expenses for FotoFiesta have been $486.60 and fees of $320 have been collected.  
  • The Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Program
   
  • Laura McKenzie presented some of her photos and talked about her job as a photojournalist with the Herald Zeitung.

Old Business

  • Sandy Gilbert reported on the progress with FotoFiesta. 16 photographers have submitted photos and there are 40 photos to hang at the exhibition.
    Sandy asked that entrants respond to her email about sales price for their photos as soon as possible and no later than 9/24. You may want to visit the NB Arts League and take a look at the prices there for comparable images.
    Sandy asked for volunteers to sell raffle tickets for a framed photo donated by Mary Hulett. The proceeds will be for the benefit of the Community Endowment for the Arts Project (see attached information sheet about this organization).
     
    Mary Hulett distributed a hand-out with a number of upcoming events and photo opportunities and mentioned the Helotes Hot Air Balloon festival taking place at 4 pm on 10/1.
     
    Homer mentioned that he had been assigned to head up the nominating committee for elections of officers for next year.  We are looking for candidates for President and Secretary i.a. Please contact Homer with your suggestions.


    

Viewing Assignment Photos of the Month
  • This month’s photos were reviewed and discussed. The assignment was “Abandoned”.
